Call for Papers

Contributions, presenting the results of original research or practical applications relevant to the Symposium, are sought in all areas of extremophiles. Prospective authors are limited to one abstract submission per first presenting author. All abstracts are to be submitted electronically, in English, by 15 Aug. 2005. All abstracts will be reviewed and those accepted will be assigned to either an oral or poster session. The author must be present at their poster or oral presentation on the relevant day.

It is the responsibility of the author to ensure accuracy of content, spelling and presentation, as abstracts will be published exactly as submitted. Once you have submitted your abstract, you will not be able to edit or resubmit your abstract. Therefore, please ensure it is complete and in its required format prior to submission.

Abstract Preparation and Submission
Abstracts may be submitted via Internet only. There is no paper form to complete or mail in. Faxed and mailed submissions will not be considered. Only abstracts submitted in the correct format, as outlined below, will be considered.

To submit an abstract, please follow the instructions below.

Authors will want to have the following information on hand when preparing to submit their abstract:
1. The complete contact information for the presenting author (the corresponding author should be the presenting author).
2. Abstracts MUST not be more than one page of A4 (22 x 28 cm), inclusive of references, but exclusive of graphs. A template is available on this website and must be saved and filled out for submitting the abstract.
3. Abstracts must be submitted in MS Word (PC) format.

Instructions for Preparing Abstracts
All papers received by the deadline date of 15 Aug. 2005 will be reviewed, for oral or poster presentation, provided that they are sent as an MS-Word document for PC (only electronic submissions will be accepted for review).

File Name
Important: Save the abstract file that you wish to submit using your last name and first initial (example: SMITHJ.doc). If you submit more than one abstract, use a number in your file name (example: SMITHJ1.doc, SMITHJ2.doc, SMITHJ3.doc). This will be the name of the file you are attaching for submission.

Agreement
In submitting an abstract, you certify that the paper is an original contribution that has not been presented or published elsewhere and give permission for the Symposium organizers to publish it, if accepted, in the Book of Abstracts. You further agree that if your abstract is accepted, you promise to appear and present your paper or arrange for its poster presentation.

Note
It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure the accuracy of the content, spelling and formatting of the abstract, as it will be published exactly as submitted. Should there be a need to make a change after your abstract has been submitted, please contact the Symposium Secretariat at: isea2005@xbr.jp
